AUSTRALIA DAY EVENT

For the past two years the Chamber of Commerce has hosted an event at the foreshore on Australia Day. We thought this is a good opportunity to give something back to the community and it is a great way to attract people out and about and into the street on Australia Day. To run this event we rely heavily on sponsors so we are writing to invite you to become involved.

The festival will begin at 11am straight after the Rotary breakfast and awards ceremony at Kennedy Park. The theme of the day is a low cost FAMILY EVENT so we are hoping to offer the community and visitors free waterslides, free face painting and balloons, free jumping castle and giveaways. We have booked popular DJ Steve Bowen to keep the entertainment flowing throughout the day.

By becoming a sponsor you will receive recognition on all advertising material throughout Yarrawonga-Mulwala but you will also have the feeling of being a true "aussie" by being part of great day for the whole family to enjoy.

We are offering the following sponsorship options:

Gold $1000

Silver $500

Bronze $200

If you are interested in finding out more information or would like to sponsor please call Chanade on 0422 110 372 or email info@ymbiz.com.au

CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS FOR BELMORE STREET.... WE NEED YOUR HELP

Can you imagine what Belmore Street would look like with a bit of Christmas cheer. This has been a priority of the Chamber for a number of years. We have Christmas banners that have been erected in previous years but unfortunately that did not give the wow factor we were looking for. As you can imagine these banners are not cheap, so this year we have come up with a alternative.

Kirsty Heather and Jan McCully have worked really hard over the last couple of weeks and have managed to collect over $2,500 in donations from local business houses which will enable us to purchase more banners with a Christmas design on them. But we are still a little bit short to purchase the 6 new banners and brackets needed to install them.

We are asking that if you haven't yet made a pledge towards decorations for our town, please consider doing so, even if it is only a small amount it will make a big difference to the Christmas cheer we can add to our main street.

The Chamber has purchased red banners on some of the existing Christmas banners to try to brighten them up and we have submitted a application to Moira Shire Council for funding to purchase bin wraps in the same design as our new banners to really make a statement.

If you are keen to see Belmore Street come alive for the Christmas period please contact Kirsty on 0408 132 615 or Chanade on 0422 110 372.

So as you can see the dedicated committee of the Yarrawonga-Mulwala Chamber of Commerce are currently working on a range of things to benefit our community and the beautiful towns that we live in. We would love to have more people involved so even if you can only spare a little amount of time we would love to hear from you.

We hope to see you all on Thursday or at the Criterion on the 12th but if we don't on behalf of the committee we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a very profitable and safe New Year.
